After making my reservation at Smart fares I received a reservation confirmation email from Smart fares. One and a half months later (two weeks before my flight) I wanted to make a change to my meal option and tried to find my booking to make the change. However, I could not find my flight at either the Smart fares website nor the airline with which I was supposed to fly. I searched my emails again and again found only the reservation confirmation. I called Smart Fares directly and I was told that the airline rejected the booking and that Smart Fares had sent me an email to notify me. I clearly never got the email and I asked which email address this "email" had been sent to and was told an address which was similar to mine but not my address. Since I had correctly received the first email I know that it was not an error from my side. I was told that I could of course no longer get that flight for the price I had booked (price was double) and I was offered a completely different flight (different travel date) with a "good faith" price which I was told no other company could beat. Of course this was a lie because it was exactly the same price what was on the website for all customers and other websites offered similar prices. Ive never experienced something like this using websites for booking flights and I travel a lot. Rest assured, I will not use Smart Fares in the future!!!
