Bought a pair of school shoes for my son in-store. After 2 days he complained that they hurt his feet. We live 160 mile round trip from the nearest store so I called their customer service dept and was advised to return them by post. I called a week after posting them, first class. Was told that they would look for the shoes and call me back. I said I wanted to arrange for a replacement pair to be sent as I still needed school shoes for my son. Nobody called me back. 4 days later I discover that they have sent me an apology and a voucher!!! A voucher that CANNOT be used online. I wrote in my letter with the shoes about the distance to their nearest store and yet they send me a voucher that means I have to make that journey after all!
I called to complain and have been advised that once I return the vouchers they will call me to arrange a refund. The letter I wrote with the returned shoes CLEARLY stated that I wanted a replacement pair or a refund.
Absolutely disgraceful service. Their shoes were flawed and yet they don't offer me the option of an exchange or refund?!?!? Holding customers money in the form of a voucher is unacceptable!!
It will be Startrite shoes for my son in future!
