“Awful moneygrabbers!”

written by emgo on 01/09/2014

I write today to express my absolute disgust in relation to rescuemycar.com.
I took out a policy recently with rescue my car. I received a letter from them explaining that they will be cancelling my policy if I do not send in my documents (No claims bonus, driving licence copy). I contacted the company to explain that I will be sending them in, after 1 hour being on hold they gave an email address to send them to. Unfortunately, I lost the email address I was given. I therefore, went online to find a new address. Online was an upload your documents section. I used this to upload my documents immediately and received a confirmation that they had been uploaded on the screen.

A week later, I received a letter explaining my policy had been cancelled and they would be passing my debt of £66 to a debt collection agency. I have had this policy less than a month! As well as this, I paid a £150 deposit at the beginning of the month!

I contacted the company to explain I had uploaded the documents. They refused to listen, said I should have emailed them and my documents have not been received. They said they will not re-instate my policy or give me a new quote unless I pay the £66 I owe them. The manager I spoke to was incredibly rude, cutting me off, not being understanding and not listening. In the end, I put the phone down on him.

I cannot afford to pay out further money to just receive a quote. As well as this, I was advised I would have to pay another deposit and open a new policy with them.

I am currently at work fuming. I have just paid a further £100 to take out a new policy with a reputable company that I know I can trust. I will certainly not be paying any more money to rescuemycar.com after they have taken an extortionate amount of money off me throughout August.

It seems I add myself to their long list of very unhappy customers.

Seems from other reviews that once you have paid your deposit they will go out of their way to cancel your policy!

Be careful and do not take a policy out with them!
