I need new curtains for my boat. I have been looking out for fabric I like
for 3 or 4 years probably! Problem is that current fashions are for enormous pattens which look ridiculous on curtains less than 2 feet long! I didn't want plain, I wouldn't have minded stripes but didn't see what I wanted, I didn't want 3" pencil pleats, and I wanted a fresh modern look. I am not sure what it is I didn't like about the fabrics I saw on sites specialising in boat and caravan curtains, I just didn't see what I wanted. I almost went with fabric I found in a craft shop selling fabrics for patch-working, but they could not supply me with the 12 meters I need for my 16 tiny curtains!
So I did some Googling, found Terry's fabrics and was soon engrossed in choosing my 8 samples. Well 5 anyway. A very well designed, easy to use website. Well done! The samples came in a couple of days and it was immediately obvious that the Lola in chambray colourway was just right for my boat. I ordered enough for the saloon and have nearly finished the 10 little curtains for that. Then I realised that the spring colour of the same pattern was perfect for my fore cabin where I sleep. The colours are the same as my duvet covers! I can get started on those tomorrow I think. The 10 meters of curtain tape for a quid was a godsend, I needed 2 lots. Deliveries have been fast, and I have not had any problems with the products so have not had to test the customer service! The price was excellent (a sale price I think). Would I recommend to a friend? I have been telling everyone who will listen...! So many thanks and I feel inspired to dream up more projects now I have dusted off my sewing machine!
