“A new mattress is an expensive purchase and getting it...”

A new mattress is an expensive purchase and getting it wrong would be a disaster, so I expected knowledgeable advice and help in choosing from Warren Evans as it specialises in beds. At Enfield branch there was one other customer and three staff, ie. not a busy time. But did the staff want to help? It seemed that their screens were a lot more interesting. I was steered towards three mattresses, handed a brochure and left to get on with it. When I found that one sagged badly on the edge, the other customer said she was told it was because it had been in the shop for three and a half years. I asked about a mattress in the brochure and was told, 'No, we don't have it'. No suggestion of other stores, could they phone to see which store had it,even though the mattress cost over £1k.

So I went to John Lewis where staff checked that my spine was correctly aligned on each mattress and took photos on my mobile so that I could see for myself. She explained how each mattress was made, what the benefits were and also the differences between them. She then suggested that I spend quite a while just lying on the mattresses that I liked so that I could get a much better impression of each.

No prizes for guessing which store will get my custom.
