I booked on line with Barrhead travel. I had to go in store to pay holiday balance. No-one in store was particulary desperate to help me and I found customer service disappointing. Guy who finally served me said cashier 'probably assumed I was waiting to book a holiday'. Would have thought it was her job to find out facts not to make assumptions! I wasted a good 45 minutes hanging about waiting to be served.
I chose to pre-book my seats after receiving a letter stating it would cost £5 per head. It actually cost £10 per head adding a cost of £60 to our holiday. I contacted them to say the letter has stated £5 and felt they should meet the deficit. I was told in no uncertain terms that I was lucky to get a letter at all as they had no legal obligation to advise me. Charming!
I paid extra for a shuttle transfer there and back but on the way back was put on a coach that took 2.5 hours to arrive at the airport meaning we only just made check in. I didn't even bother getting in touch to advise them as I was less than delighted with previous contact.
The holiday itself was good but overall I wasn't overly impressed with their level of customer care and I should know was I've worked in this area for over 30 years.
