“Needs Much Improving”

written by on 18/08/2014

Our trip was the Majestic Europe for 14 days. And let me say the positives first. We definitely were not let down by the amazing attractions we saw. Also having night tours were another way we could see the place. The coach and traveling were average too. However there are 3 main things I, and the other people traveling with us, would complain about. that is the accommodation in some places, the food and the tour manager. Don't get me wrong some of the hotels were absolutely amazing!!! But in the star tours booklet, it was clearly written that all hotels were 4 to 5 stars and at one of the hotels this was not met. If star tours couldn't get us a decent hotel they could've written in the booklet that we wouldn't ALWAYS get the best of hotels. But this is a VERY minor problem against the food that was served by Star Tours. I was VERY APPAULED but the standards of food we were receiving throughout the whole of our 2 weeks. Breakfasts were ok as we were getting them on behalf of the hotel. But at times we would get packed lunches, and they were absolutely disgusting. we were served in a small box some cold rice and other Indian foods. this was so cold and raw it was very difficult to digest. we received this about 2 to 3 times. another problem related to the food was some of the restaurants that we dinned in. Some were very unhygienic and not a suitable place to eat. I found a few bugs on the table which put me off my food. Also the rush for food was MASS. There were other coaches with us who were as equally as hungry as us, therefore making the organization of the whole tour a mass crowd. I suggest that they either make the food and tables more spread out, bring the other coach people at different times or just make the tours so that all of the people do not clash at one place. This will help with not just food but also when wee see the attractions. Lastly, about the food, almost every single day we had to eat the same type of food. Indian food, and again don't get me wrong Indian food is nice and all but sometimes it was not cooked properly, other times it was just too disgusting to swallow. Some of the younger kids were getting fed up of the same cuisine everyday, some ate with their own money while other didn't eat at all. And if we did have money to eat out the tour manager was always rushing us a EVERY place we went to. If we woke up late or there was traffic they should be able to change and adjust the attractions so we can still get a full view of the places. another thing is that they said the coach stops every 2h for a toilet break. This is NOT true, once they stopped the vehicle in 3h and my relative nearly burst their bladder. They need to understand that we are not robots, we are humans who need decent food, hotels and service. which I found below average. and last but not least the tour manager. I wish I could name but I cannot. He was very rude to the customers, he has called them names before he has also back chatted to the customer. He nearly had misbehaved with all of the families on the tour. I found this very VERY APPAULING. Star tours need to check their managers properly and see if they are actually fit for the job and if they can behave with the customers.
Throughout this trip I have had many highlights like able to see some destinations I would not have seen, however I have had as many or even more problems on this trip. So if you are able to eat the same food everyday at low qualities, and able to digest some of the rude behavior of the tour manager and stay at some places where people cannot reside for then go ahead you can book your tour.
