I was called in for an eye test and told that my prescription had changed and I would need new varifocals.
Although they have frames at the budget end, i was taken straight to the expensive designer frames. I had told them I was unemployed. It seems everything is geared to making one spend more an more money.
I went back a week later to pick up my new spectacles; I put them on expecting to see an improvement. Long distance was ok, but reading and close work was worse than the old pair. A line of print appeared convex and vertical lines appeared to converge inwards. They heated the frames to make an adjustment and I was told I would get used to them. After a few days I have gone back to the old spectacles. The new ones give me a headache. The assistant looking after me was stuck up and made me feel it was my fault that my new glasses were a great dissapointment.
