“AA Atrocious Auto Service ”

written by CORTYBOY on 10/08/2014

I have finally found out what the AA stands for Atrocious Auto Service what a bloody joke

Lets start with the first phone call at 6.15pm 9/8/14 my expectant daughter and four year old son driving around a roundabout heard a bang and lost all steering as the steering rack ball joint had snapped so i went to her aid i phoned the AA and after listening to your money making menu for five minutes or so i eventually spoke to a lady i explained that the steering rack had fallen apart and that the car could not be pushed and that we were on a major road and stuck on a roundabout she took all details said that we were a priority and would be attended by 7.20pm so we waited during this time at 7.00pm i called my son inlaw out and he stayed while i took my daughter and grandson home, we had informed the police because of the leaking oil on the road which they attended and put cones around the car and informed the local highways people so the it was just a waiting game.
I phoned the AA again at 7.30pm to ask where the breakdown truck was and again trawling through your money making menu only to speak to a lady who was an absolute waste of time when asked where the recovery was she said she did not know so i made reference to the app you mention in your money making menu so she could track them only to be told that wasn’t her department to which i swore and told her that the AA was a shambles and a pissing joke to which she said someone would be with us at 8.00pm and i hung up on her.
So 8 oclock came and went so at 8.15pm i called the AA again and after the trauma of your money making menu again i was told someone would be there by 9.00pm it was at that point i had to return home and left my son inlaw there with the attending police officer, Then at 8.50pm this is now 21/2 hours later a recovery lorry arrived only to tell my son inlaw that he could not do anything as he only had a winch and would do a lot more damage to the car, so he said that the AA would have to send out a wagon with a hoist and that could be another couple of hours by this time i was getting really cheesed off so my wife then rang the AA around 10.00pm and yes your money making menu pops up again anyway my wife spoke to a lady and was told someone would be there by 12.00am it was at around 12.00am when the AA rang me and said that they were having trouble locating a wagon and that they had informed the police, shortly after the police arrived explained what was going on and said that they would chase the matter up which they did, i then had a phone call again from the AA at 12.21am to say they were still trying to sort something out, The AA rang again at 01,02 am to say someone would be with us by 02.30am eventually at 02.25am a lorry arrived a apparently the same sort as arrived earlier the driver said that he may cause damage as he only had a winch but he managed to load the car with no damage and took it to where i asked and unloaded it again without damage by this time it was 03.00am a mere 8hr 45minutes after my first call and as i said earlier we were a priority call.
What i can’t understand is how one person can load the car and another can’t and it frightens the life out of me to think what if this had been in the middle of nowhere and my daughter and her four year old son had to wait.
So in total we spent 8hrs 45mins waiting for priority call out and 30mins plus trawling through your money making menu which is bloody appalling 17 years i’ve been a member of the AA will it be 18years? Only if hell freezes over, All i can say is that the police and the driver who recovered the car could not have been more helpful as for the rest of the AA i had the misfortune of dealing with their empty apologies and there meaningless sorry i hope that they suffer the same fate at sometime soon.
