I have had a terrible experience with Locauto, but at the Fuimicino airport desk. I have also been charged with damages which weren't caused by me, and the customer service is extremely rude and the agent at the return desk was verbally abusive to me and my colleague and, in addition, tried to physically remove my camera phone after I took photos of him and the supposed damage to the rental car. I have now contacted my bank to dispute the charge, and will also take it up with the European Consumer Centre.
Do not ever use this company. I know they might seem cheaper than the other ones, but rather use the major brands, not these ones, pay the extra Euro and you won’t get tricked! I have learnt my lesson! I don’t have enough words to describe the trickster approach of the return agent at Fuimicino airport, or the rudeness and illiterate emails from the woman (not lady!) in customer service who only wants to toe the party line and refuses to answer pertinent questions.
Like it has been said before, I am not sure why the Italian department of fair trading hadn't fined this company for misconduct and unfair business trading.
