“Automatic renewal even after i requested to opt out ! ”

Just noticed that my bank statement had a Bennetts payment taken out for a bike policy i no longer have.I have been using them on & off for over 10 years so called them to find out & they replied i had not opted out when taking out the policy & that ALL online policies are automatically renewed unless i actually call to remove it.
I explained that i have moved house since & that i no longer require cover & they charged me £30 to cancel the policy !
As it was in the initial cooling off period of 14 days i called them back to ask why they felt the need to charge me for something that
a) i didnt want in the first place
b)was for an address that i didnt live at
c)for i bike i no longer own !
They then said they had to speak to their supervisor (leaving me on hold for 5 mins) which turned out ok as they agreed to send me a cheque for the £30 cancellation fee which would take 3-5 days & refund my policy to my original debit card which will take 7-10 days. Cheque received & banked 5 days later.Policy refund still not returned 4 weeks later !
Bennetts are a joke & i will not be using them again,nor will i be recommending them to anyone
