“Dreadful voucher scheme for Hotels - book direct cheaper!!”

I bought one of these vouchers - two night getaway for two, full price £199.00 (which I would not have paid) BUT it was on offer at £99 - for my husband for his birthday. We are very busy with work and other commitments so we chose dates, booked time off and tried to book a Hotel. No chance! After trying to book four for a Thurs & Fri evening in September with 5 different Hotels, I was advised they are either only available Sun-Weds nights or not available June - Sept. Of the 30+ Hotels listed the majority of them seem to be in Scotland - which is fine if you live near there, we don't and won't drive 8+ hours for a two night break. Please note that Activity Superstore have stated (in response to my first - deleted - review - this is an amended one!) that all breaks are available Monday-Sunday, all year round in various locations, that might be correct, but not in anywhere I tried to book. 
I also checked that the Hotels I tried had availability, they did, and all at a far cheaper rate than the full voucher price - which thankfully I didn't pay. 
I am changing my booked holidays, which will mean I will have to work the weekend before having Monday and Tuesday off, I'm hoping my husband can change his otherwise we will not be able to use the voucher. I bought the voucher in June and although I was aware the expiry date was December 1st, I was not aware that some of the Hotels will not accept vouchers during their busy season, leaving us just October and November to use it! I do understand the Hotels stipulating this but I feel it should be made clearer on the packaging. 
I did ask for a refund as I so disappointed that something which looked great wasn't, in my experience. I was told once I had 'registered' the voucher refunds are not given. The company offered to extend it for a charge of £20.00, or swap to a different experience, neither of which I wanted. Even if I manage to book the dates I have now chosen I still regret buying this. IN MY EXPERIENCE they aren't good value for money and I absolutely would NOT recommend. I wish I had found this review site before purchasing! In future I will stick to Hotel direct deals, or Wowcher.
