The 4th emergency service left my young daughter stranded 200 miles from home because they could not diagnose why her car had lost coolant it was topped up and she was told to drive home in short hops stopping to let it cool down and to remove the cap from hot header tank to allow air locks out if necessary. this was despite the fact we have recovery on our family membership and yes my daughter is a named member. To add insult to injury I emailed CEO with complaint about this and he could not be bothered to reply, the complaints manager emailed a dismissive reply saying the AA had carried out its service and because there was no fault to be seen it was not considered to be a breakdown therefore refused to recover the car and put a sticker on report to say if the engine was damaged due to overheating the AA do not take any responsibility. When I had a similar situation several years ago the AA picked up my car and took us 60miles home without a quibble, whoever is running the AA now does not have the same service ethic, they just want more money from loyal members and to provide as little help as they can get away with.
Will try my insurance breakdown cover next renewal, the AA won't have another penny from me.
