“Reservation lost but still charged”

I arrived at the Europcar/Alamo stand and presented my driving licence to the staff. They told me I did not have a booking. Foolishly, I had not printed out the reservation slip but was certain it was with this firm. I was told there as nothing in my name registered and that I would need to make a new booking. I had to go through we with this as I had no other option. I was changed EUR299 for the second booking, having already prepaid around EUR140.

The car I ended up with was perfectly fine, and the staff themselves were helpful, but with the booking lost I was left out of pocket and very annoyed at the extra hassle I had to go through. I won't be doing any business with Alamo / Europcar in the future.
