Booked a rental through Rentalcars, checked the website as I was on an evening flight and it advised a number to call if you land after 10.00 (tried it later - there was no reply). I phoned up on the week before the rental to confirm hire and that I was coming in on an evening flight from Glasgow. Was assured that there would be no problem. Sadly, and unusually, the flight was delayed for two hours so as a courtesy I called up to advise I would be late. Manager said you will need to come back tomorrow as the office will be closed. I explained that I had called up and been told catagorically that there would be no problem. Manager denied I had done so and suggested I had called the broker. I explained I had called the number on the booking the same number I was now calling on, and didn't have a number for a broker, but the manager was adamant that if you were there after 10.00 you would not get a car. She suggested that I called Rentalcars and provided a number on an 0800 number. Was this spite? After trying for 45 minutes the Rentalcars IVR advised that they were only open 0800-1700 Monday to Friday. Gave up on flight and reason for flying south. Cost a lot of money all avoidable had the company been honest. Can only suggest that you avoid Easirent and exercise extreme caution in ordering anything through Rentalcars. I have cancelled future bookings with Easirent.
