I rented a car from Locauto at Bologna Airport. When I brought it back a few days later, I phoned the desk from the parking place, asking if I should wait for an attendant.
That was not necessary, I could come tp the desk straight away. The staff never even mentioned the possibility of checking the car and dismissed me after two minutes. The next week I received an email, stating that there was damage and they would charge my credit card for €297. No proof, no photo, no expert report.
I sent a furious email back, threatening with legal action, but the next day the money was already charged from my credit card. I got an invoice and a mail explaining that I had waived the right for complaint, because the car was not checked on arrival.
I then contacted my credit card company and sent all the relevant information, including the email correspondence. Thankfully they reacted very alertly and after a short investigation, retracted the money.
So, if anybody has this same problem with this company, immediately contact your credit card company. The charges Locauto make are unsubstantiated and illegal!
