I booked four rooms back in February this year for 12th July for one night at The Carrington House Hotel in Bournemouth. This was to be my stag weekend, we went paintballing first and then got to the hotel about five o'clock to check in, only to be told that they had no booking for us, I had my confirmation e mail with me showing I had paid and it had all been confirmed. After waiting nearly an hour we did eventuall get our rooms, it appears lastminute.com had not paid the money to the hotel for the rooms !
So when we got home I complained to lastminute.com and asked for some compensation, I was told point blank they could offer no compensation!, when in actual fact the fault was with them!
The hotel did not offer us anything, they could have made things a bit better if they had maybe given us all a couple of drinks while we were waiting, we actually bought drinks ourselves, they could have offered us brealfast the next morning but no, it seems that it is okay for people to be treated like dirt! I will never use lastminute.com again and I would recommend no one books any hotel rooms through them.
