Approaching seventy years of age and having joined Natwest when It was the Westminster Bank I have recently switched to Santander. Why? Not due to poor service I generally found the service ok and stuck to phone and branch contact. The point that prompted departure was when I received a letter saying that as I had reached sixty nine years the travel insurance provided with my Gold Card Account had been suspended. As this was the only one of the service offered of interest to me and having for many years had a healthy balance on my account I decided to review the situation. No point in paying fees for a guaranteed overdraft I never used and a non existent travel insurance, so switched. No agreed overdraft now but am earning more in interest on my bank account than my Isa. I
