I booked a car to be picked up from Belfast International and returned at Dublin Airport. It is an all inclusive prepaid rate, including the one way rental fee, clearly stated in the Rental Confirmation.
1. Hidden Extra £24 "Written Permission Fee"! This is hidden in small print "Rental Information". However at pickup I was informed that I need to pay £24 written permission fee to drive the car to Ireland. Going back to the Sixt.co.uk website now and trying to make the same booking, you'll find a very small link called "Rental Information" at the bottom and hidden inside is this £24 fee mentioned. However there is no mention that this is NOT included.
2. Quoted price is in £GBP but actually charged in Euros. Being a pick up from Northern Ireland where the currency is GBP, and quoted in GBP, I would expect to pay in GBP. I have separate Credit Cards for GBP and Euros and would have used a different card if informed.
Side note: My rental return was fine but 2 other people returning cars at the same time had heated arguments with staff about the conditions of their cars. Not saying that this is any particular side's fault. Just an observation of the arguments.
Conclusion: Be very careful of Sixt and avoid if possible.
