“Broken trust”

Ordered an Endurance chaise sofa from SCS 27 December 2013. Changed colour from red twice in the following week which we were told was fine within 7 days from order. Our final order was brown. When first sofa was delivered in March it was red. Refused delivery and manufacturers accepted responsibility so SCS did not suffer. Had another 3 month wait. Asked if we would receive any compensation for long wait and was told a reduction in our monthly payment. As they had been giving away a free carpet with this sofa in January I suggested that a free carpet for our stairs and landing would be acceptable to us and it was indicated that would be possible but not until after delivery of correct colour sofa. The brown sofa was delivered two weeks ago and before I signed I rang the shop and spoke to the manager who told us to pop in to see about a carpet. We would arrange fitting ourselves. We went today and manger is on holiday but had left instructions with staff. We were told if we ordered a £500 carpet we could have a £100 discount. I am disgusted. I think the cost price of a carpet (within reason) is suitable compensation for such a long wait and that was what was I had been led to believe would happen and is why I was so patient. I have complained via email to their customer service department. Lets see what happens there!
