I bought my new kitchen from Howden's Yeovil, my kitchen fitter gave them a cheque on the 28th April for the full amount, ever since I have been checking my account to see when the money came out well it never did!!! On Thursday I received a phone call from my kitchen fitter saying that Howden's have been in touch with him and told him that my cheque had bounced 3 times (this is impossible) I immediately phoned my bank who said that the cheque had never been presented. I had a sleepless night worrying about what had happened, yesterday morning I contacted my kitchen fitter asking him to contact Howden's again asking for dates that they paid my cheque in, and what dates it had bounced, knowing full well they wouldn't be able to, he asked and was then told that Howden's had lost a batch of receipts mine included and instead of telling the truth he was told that they always say "that the cheques had bounced 3 times, as this would still make the firm sound and look professional, well not in my eyes. A letter of complaint has been posted to the head office today. My kitchen was fitted 6 weeks ago today and the quality of the sink (Lamona) is appalling I am unable to clean it as its full of water marks and beginning to look dull, bearing in mind I had the last kitchen 22 years and the sink still shone.
There is no way I would ever buy or recommend Howden's again.
