They did not honour our cancellation. Apparently if we had booked directly with the hotel : price would have been the same and we could have cancelled 24 hours in advance. Very disappointing – we will NOT be using Booking.com services again. We have been booking hotels on-line all over the world through a variety of booking sites for years, this has never happened before(even in places that we thought could be a problem). We cancelled two days in advance due to a family issue (plenty of time with all the other companies). This is a hard way to learn that Booking.com does not offer the same level of customer service.
