“Wimbledon Branch - Avoid Avoid Avoid!”

We used the Wimbledon branch to do a fortnightly clean of our 3 bedroom house. On the advice of the branch manager we booked a 3 hour clean. The price charged was £20 per hour.

The service that we have received has been appalling in the following aspects.

1) Time keeping:- the occasions when I have been here at the same time as the cleaners they have done far less than the booked time. The worst case was 2 cleaners here for just under an hour i.e. 1/3 less than they were booked for.

2) Cleaning standards:- the standard of cleaning varied from the mediocre to very bad. We often found ourselves having to re clean after they had been. Some times it was obvious that they hadn't even bothered to use a brush or cloth, just sloshed things over with some water. In addition they have never moved and cleaned behind sofas, cupboards etc.

3) Breakages. One of the main reasons that we went with Molly Maid is that their marketing makes a big deal about the fact that they are fully insured. However the final straw came when they broke a phone charger. OK, I thought, at least it will be covered. However, when I contacted them they said it was under a bed so they would only pay 50% replacement cost. In actual fact the charger was attached to a socket block right by the bedside table and would have been visible from next to the bed.

In short, Molly Maid Wimbledon are over priced, carry out a shoddy clean and try their very best to wriggle out of paying for any damage.
