“holiday package from MakeMyTrip...never again”

We booked a package tour of Himachal for our family - only because we were too busy to research ourselves. Overall a poor experience, will not do it again. MakeMyTrip is OK for individual flight bookings but would not recommend for holiday packages.
We got a custom package and an innova to travel everywhere (paid a large sum extra for that). Delhi hotel was barely comfortable and in a very crowded and dirty area in Karol Bagh. We had to walk some distance to another bldg for breakfast. Shimla hotel was totally unacceptable - 20 kms outside Shimla (every km counts in Himachal and consumes a lot of time), very decrepit and rundown (curtains held up by safety pins, insects, broken bathroom fixtures, water outage in between). We requested a hotel change and spent hours on the phone with MakeMyTrip.
Alternate hotel booked by them was barely reachable by car & we ended up not staying there (so whoever is doing the bookings has no idea of ground reality - access road etc).
Calling MakeMyTrip each time was painful - no single contact to talk with and you end up talking to a variety of people and explaining the same thing over and over and wasting your holiday time.
Lastly - our driver refused to change anything in the itinerary even slightly even though we had paid lots of extra money for "custom" package. His driving was pretty rash too. We requested a change of driver, but only solution from MakeMyTrip was their offer to "talk" to the driver. Not good customer service at all, we ended up pretty miserable. Spent extra money from our own pocket in hiring our own taxi for local sightseeing.
