“Cheap but inept”

Bought motorbike insurance through them this morning, rung them up asking for a cover note to be emailed to the dealer so they can tax the vehicle (never a problem with Admiral), they said it's not a problem and supposedly sent the email. 4 hours later the dealer rings me up, "we haven't received the email" no surprises there, back on the phone to MCE and after 20 mins in a queue listening to some motorcycles revving and some banal 'chatter' from some biking bore/enthusiast, they finally answered... Guess what? 'We can't send the email again until tomorrow now'

'why not?'

'our email servers can't support the number of emails that we send so we have to limit it to 1 per day'

I've never heard such utter dross in all my life. I work in IT and run an MX server for a large company that sends 20,000 emails an hour. How do they think spammers send billions of emails every day?

If it's not received tomorrow morning I'll cancel and go to Bikesure, went with MCE because it was £30 cheaper but such a bad start already. And for crying out loud, get rid of the awful holding noise on the phone. I don't want to listen to motorbikes revving for 20 mins every time I ring you.
