Re Canterbury Club. New timetables are out next week and most of our classes like Pilates/Yoga have been cancelled and not replaced by other classes. The reason: cuts to the budget. All the classes were well attended and popular with members. The new "sign into classes system" has not been introduced to members via email , so most members were not aware of it and just turned up for classes. Of course therefore were not registered with the attendance lists via the web page. Generally the communication has been very poorly between members and management and instructors and management. Frustration levels are therefore high and it feels like the voices of members are not heard. We joined the club as a family when it opened and it promised to be a great idea. But gradually classes had been cancelled and facilities kept less and less clean and updated (like showers, pool and steam room). Most of our friends have cancelled their membership by now and we are thinking too about moving to another club.
Its such a shame - but it feels like a club only interested in members using the gym to keep costs low and the additional offer and promise of classes had gradually been downgraded to literally no morning classes. Think twice before you join. By the way - complaint emails by other members to the management have not been replied too...
