“Flawed system”

written by Mandrew7c3 on 20/06/2014

I just got off the phone and I had to voice my experience. Over a month ago I received a cold call from someone who "represented" (Keyword) Carphone Warehouse to talk to me about an upgrade that was due soon from my joint iPhone/iPad data plan. Besides his over persistent and arrogant nature, he offered me a rolling contract as I wasn't ready to upgrade at the time. When I received my new sim it wasn't activated. A bit suspicious, but no problem. Went to CW and got that sorted.

Over a month later (today), I called EE to discuss upgrade options (as I was still eligible on the rolling contract). Much to my surprise, they still had me logged on their systems under the old contract. So They asked me to call CW to investigate. After a short chat to CW they said that the contract was applied for by a sister company... e2save.

I called e2save and after waiting on hold for 15+ minutes, they literally said this to me... "Because you was on a joint data plan, we couldn't process the order". What?... Why wasn't I told that it didn't go through? "We never got a notification from Orange to say it failed". Jesus. I then asked why this wasn't clear to the cold caller in the first place. "It's not shown on our system". Absolute joke. So they knew I was due for an upgrade but had no idea what my current plan was! Which is bull as I specifically remember talking about it to him saying how expensive it was. So I finally said that this means if this promotion was sold to thousands of customers, they would cold call THEM to process their upgrades that THEY can't even process and they would never be notified to be told that it failed.... He replied with "Potentially, yes"...

Damn e2save. I never even knew you existed in the first place and now I wish you never existed at all.
