“My expectations were not high.”

I ordered four pairs of trousers online after seeing an advert in a newspaper. The order process was straightforward and the trousers were delivered in 3 days, so good service up to that. The trousers were really cheap, so my expectations were not high, they would do for work, and even if they were really nasty, I could still use them for working on the car or in the garden. How wrong I was! they were so bad in terms of fit, finish, quality, feel etc. I binned them, I couldn't even be bothered to go through the returns procedure. My wife retrieved them from the bin and took them to a charity shop.
