“WORST DELIVERY COMPANY IN THE MARKET, AVOID AT ALL COSTS”

written by DylanPollard on 10/06/2014

This company is the worst that I have ever dealt with.

Like many of the poor unfortunates sadly fated to be delivered to by these couriers of woe, our delivery was a no show despite the fact that there were a text and email confiming the date and time of the delivery.

I was in all day waiting for the delivery, sitting on my sofa, next to the window keeping an eye out for the delivery. Like most houses, we have knockable doors as well as a doorbell, yet no sound was heard. No delivery arrived.

When the delivery window was up, we called the depot to ask where our stuff was. It's a fairly meaty delivery (a big pile of stuff from Wickes), so wouldn't have fallen down the back of the shelves in the van. The answer that we have got was that they did attempt the delivery, but nobody was in. As the door was not knocked, the bell not rung, and in fact no vehicle parked near the property at any point, they must either be ninjas, committed Metal Gear Solid fans, ghosts or, in fact, fundamentally dishonest. Perhaps they are more used to sneaking supplies behind enemy lines than providing a simple logistics service for the benefit of the frustrated consumer.

No call card was put through the door - but the depot confirm this is normal, as the drivers have run out of cards. Obviously. Apparently however, the driver definitely tried a delivery because he took a photo of our front door - but this can't be viewed at the depot because, woe upon woe, their servers are down. Wickes did view it for us, and advised it was an unidentifiable yellow and white blur.

Despite all this, DX stated that they trust their driver completely; if the driver said that they did attempt the delivery, there is "no reason for them to disbelieve this"; the clear implication is that we're not only a touch dishonest, but also too incompetent to even manage to spot a man with a large truck outside our house, knocking on our door (adding insult to injury, really - maybe the only thing they've ever delivered well?). From my perspective, the lack of any of the things we ordered, a card, or a legible photograph do give me strong reason to doubt that the driver tried a delivery.

Wickes' customer service was excellent and I"m hopeful that their strong whip can get the tired old DX donkey over the line with our stuff in an 'AM delivery window' tomorrow. I"m not going to hold my breath though, and I have to admit I won't be using any company who employ this amateurish mob (no delivery cards, no customer service, no interest in making things right) ever again.
