“Thank you Charlie”

written by AydinMcCurdy135 on 06/06/2014

Having had the disappointment of having to cancel a visit to Australia we set about what to do with the return airline ticket.
One staff member in particular, in the office in Reading, spent a lot of time over several days helping us to find out our options.

We found that we could not change the ticket from a brother to a sister even though the surnames were identical.
We found that even though it was a ticket that was not refundable it could be re routed by the original airline (this had to be done through Travel Up) and this had to be finalised and £100 paid before the original date of departure of the original ticket - only for the named person on that original ticket. And that the travel (outward and return) had to be completed within one year of the original ticket's outward journey.

Subsequently, with the hope of visiting friends abroad and friends anticipating welcoming the said sister, we needed to book another ticket. After such excellent help, especially having been prepared to keep on trying to get information from the airline on our behalf, we chose to pay a little more in order to use TravelUp.

Hope that this is helpful.
