“Terrible Installers”

Having had a Kinetico water softener for 15 years in our old house and loved it, when we moved we were keen to install one in our new house. Unfortunately UKH20 of Ferring, the appointed installers were, to say the least amateurs. It was installed on 3 February and because the plumber adjusted the boiler, we were left with cold showers. After several visits and the director attempting to reset the boiler but made it worse, in desperation he called in a Valient boiler engineer to reset the boiler. I understand since then the boiler should not have been touched and it is illegal if a plumber is not Corgi registered. We were then told that we needed a new thermostat which cost us £100 and which we realised subsequently we did not need. I was then forced to ring up the Head Office with my complaint and a director from Kinetico came on 20th May, over three months after the original installation. It would appear the plumber, whilst installing the outside cover not only allowed particles of plastic to enter the filter system but he had never connected it to the cold water pipe. Great machine but terrible installers.
