“Nationwide 'Not Fit For Purpose'”

Well thanks a lot Nationwide!. While still an existing customer of yours all I wanted to do was port my Mortgage, reduce it and buy my new house.
Simple? not a bit of it. After the initial acceptance in principal of the amount we wanted, four weeks later we get a reduced offer by £15k thinking it must be some kind of mistake. Ah well just send more pay slips and yet more statements wait another two weeks. Now they offer us £20k less than the first derisory offer! In the meantime we have spent £250 on the survey plus solicitors fees etc. Must be a mistake 'again' so appeal...wait another two weeks after being told that every time you ask them to do something they promise to do it with 48 hours which always takes a week.
I was given a person to deal with my case from Swindon who appears sympathetic but can't talk to her colleagues in the new business team in Northampton, she has to e-mail them and even she doesn't know who she's talking to there!
So after seven weeks we are screwed, lost sale of the house and the purchase of the new one.
I have written to them to complain but have yet to receive an acknowledgment let alone an explanation.
Nationwide... don't touch them with the proverbial barge pole.....absolutely useless.
