I applied for the voucher from Camden as i am a Camden employee. i booked an appointment at the camden branch of Specsavers as instructed. i arrived on 28th May to have the test this went well. I told the staff that i would return on the as i wanted my daughter to come with me to advise on frames, i confirmed that if i could get the £69 two for one with the voucher and was told yes, i could even get the glasses and the second pair could be prescription sunglasses, i was told the voucher would need to remain at the shop until i returned.
Today 31st may i went to the branch with my daughter and chose the glasses i wanted went to the counter the Manager was now dealing with me, i told him i had left my voucher, he then informed me that the voucher had already been sent off and also that i was not entitled to the free glasses as this was a VDU voucher and i am not apparently in need even though i cannont see the computer screen without glasses, his advice was to put the computer at arms length and i will be able to see, I will ask Camden if i could have a desk to accomodate this but i think the answer will be no. If the staff had informed me of this on 28th i would no have wasted my time today. i would never use Specsavers again nor would i recommend them to others.
