“Give them a chance”

Applied for a new mortgage through a broker on the 7th May. Today I received notification that my mortgage has been approved subject to survey.

I was warned ahead of time that it could take 3 to 5 weeks and that was accurate.

I have been using the Santander for intermediaries website to track progress of Santander mortgage stages.

I had one hiccup due to a document having incorrect information, this delayed things for a week but this can not be blamed on Santander.

It seems that a lot of the negative reviews on this site seem to be related to missing or incorrect information, something that is probably not the fault of Santander.

Overall, the process is slower than the last time I applied for a mortgage (several years ago) but I have been kept informed throughout.
