“One of my best buys ever”

My wife and I have been enjoying our Abberley beds now for a little over 6 months so it is time to write a review on them. I decided to wait this length of time simply because all the reviews I read ( and there were about 70 of them) had been written in the first couple of weeks before any euphoria had time to wear off and I thought a review after 6 months would add a new dimension to the thing.
At the outset I want to say that in December I did a lot of research on adjustable beds and approached 3 different suppliers. It was the combination of price and the positive nature of the reviews that enabled me to make up my mind in favour of Abberley. Even so I drove down from Durham to Southend to get a first hand look at the beds I wanted to buy. I record now that I concur with everything that I read about the service and the friendliness and non-aggressive salesmanship of Richard and his wife Louise so I won’t repeat all the praise that has been heaped upon them by other customers. But I do agree with it all.
We decided to buy 2 single slatted beds that stand side-by-side, one with a memory foam mattress and the other with a latex mattress. We picked the material we wanted and specified what drawers etc we wanted. We also did not want a headboard as we wanted to keep our existing solid oak one that we had made for us in Central Africa in about 1976.
Well the beds were delivered exactly as and when promised and we started our first night really wondering if we had done the right thing.
I suffer from hiatus hernia and have a chronic back problem that meant I could only sleep for about 45 minutes at a time so my nights ended up as a series of cat naps. I also couldn’t lie on my back for more than 5 minutes at a time. Well the long and short of it is that within less than a week I had found a position with the head and feet up that allowed me to sleep ON MY BACK all night long.
I now sleep in that position for 9 hours every night with only 2 short comfort breaks during that time. My sleeping has been transformed by the Abberley adjustable bed and I now do not like going away and leave my comfortable bed behind. My wife also loves her’s but she could sleep on a clothes line.
To add to the decadent comfort we also bought a couple of 100% Siberian Goose down duvets which have been absolutely wonderful. They complement the beds extremely well.
In conclusion I would thoroughly recommend the Abberley range of beds. They are well worth what they cost.
