I was persuaded to switch from TalkTalk to Titan on a like-for-like basis. The switch-over was anything but the promised “Seamless” event.
Despite emailing to warn of my fears of technical difficulties on handover, I heard nothing and for 16 hours had no internet or broadband and of course no emails for my home, my business and my wife’s business.
This was rectified at 4pm on the day of the handover.
When I emailed to complain I was told I would hear something back that day but had no response.
I had agreed to a full price package because I had been told I would be receiving a far superior service to that provided by TalkTalk. I believed I had taken a package of the same price £29 and everything would be like-for-like. This was far from the case.
There is no contact after 6pm or weekends. I also had reservations about taking on a three-year contract.
To add to my horror when I received my first bill it was £53. That’s more than £20 above my previous TalkTalk bill and, to add insult to injury, £3.11p of the bill was the cost of phone calls to TITAN to try and sort out this mess.
For the brief time I was with Titan I had no answering service, no number recognition, a diminished speed internet link.
But worse was to come. I have today changed to TalkTalk and they have informed me that - Titan - have retained my number. I have had to take on a new number. I have lost the telephone number I have had for the past 30 years. This means disaster for my business and my wife’s business with all the stationery and websites having to be changed.
It was the worst day ever for me when the Titan rep telephoned and I agreed to switch. Don't touch them with a bargepole.
