“Lost order. Refunded. Ordered again. Lost AGAIN!”

written by Farrys on 30/04/2014

Visited shop in Manchester to buy a microwave oven.
None in stock even though the website indicated otherwise.
None-the-less I paid in full (270) and arranged collection in store.
Drove there next day to collect. Staff didn't know why it had not arrived, apologised and asked me to return next day.
Drove there again, but first checked with a member of staff who said it was ready to collect. I therefore went back to the car, drove to the collection point. Showed the receipt but now two staff were baffled. Apologised, and refunded the money.
Still, next day I decided to bought the same item, this time online, from John Lewis. A loyal customer, I have used that store for many years. I chose a Waitrose as the collection point but when I drove there to collect, you guessed it.. No microwave!
The manager said they had "nothing to do with John Lewis" but he called the Customer Support in Glasgow and handed the phone to me. I had spoken to the this centre before on two occasions, about the non-delivery of this microwave and buying another. Both times staff were very polite, but this third guy was just rude from the outset. His default position was one where I must be a crook, trying to steal a microwave from them!
The rip-off merchants have now lost this loyal customer and gained an active advertiser for their poor customer service, ridiculous (non)delivery, wasting customers' time, and money.
