I had a TERRIBLE experience with Bookit.com when I booked my vacation week! First of all, they overcharged my credit card by charging my hotel twice! And then they actually placed a RECURRING charge on my account which my credit card company had to explain to me what it was--Bookit.com would charged my account every month for the amount I paid for the hotel! Not good! Of course, my bank blocked Bookit.com from charging my account! I noticed right away and called them (Bookit.com) and spoke with 3 different customer serivce rep--none of them could find what was overcharged! One of them told me the overcharge wasn't there anymore. The last customer rep blamed it on my credit card company for allowing this extra charge? Really? Your company charged my account not my bank??? (My bank did actually credit my account again).
I called the hotel and the airline just to be sure all was in order before I left for my vacation-the hotel couldn't find my reservation cause Bookit.com had misspelled my last name? Really? When I booked, I got a 100$ restaurant.com GC--wasn't able to use on vacation cause Bookit.com never sent me a confirmation code...Great company huh?
So as of today which is almost 2 months after I initially booked--I haven't received any paperwork form my bank that the claim is closed...I did speak with another rep from bookit.com after I wrote them a LONG email, and she said that my credit card/bank had been refunded. She said it takes 2 weeks for the money to get to them? Really? Your company stole money out of my account? And now we have to wait for the credit?
Be careful--pay the extra 50-100$ with another company! I would not recommend ANYONE to book trough bookit.com!
