“hard case splits after one trip”

I bought the lite hard-shell suitcase in graphite and the matching carryon because I have a few trips to make over the next couple of years and with tripp offering a 5year guarantee it seemed sensible to give tripp a look at then I find this product winner of a gadget show award and praised as one of the strongest and most durable suitcases available reasonably priced I bought it and it arrived promptly and looked great. But after just one trip away it has developed a crack along the side of the case I was disappointed but remembered its got a 5year guarantee so after just one trip it should be fine. I rang customer services and sent in pictures to get a email back saying it was not a fault of the product and something heavy had been placed on it so its not covered after looking at reviews on other sites there seems to be a pattern of the same type of splits on peoples cases after 1 or 2 trips and them getting the same responses huge let down on a customer service side as after all the gadget show hit one with a boat and that was fine but if a baggage handler put another suit case on mine it must have been a huge bag to way more than a boat (which they advertise they got an award from the gadget show for) wouldn't buy this product if your after a hard case that will last as guarantee is worthless
