“Whole day lost”

We booked a few days with west jet vacations to vegas for a short
get away and to have some fun.
So to be early in prince George we came the night before to pg and
spend a night in a hotel. First thing after arrival at pg airport
5am was checking in. After that was done we checked the screen and
we realized our flight was delayed. So went back to the counter and
ask ...reply no problem sir just one hour and you will make your
connection in Vancouver. Told him ..would be nice to tell me your
delay right when we checked in and not let us find out later after
waiting. Later we where told the air crew is late because of problems
the night before then it was rolling fog and then they finally started
boarding now just 90 min behind. We where happy to go finally on the
plane and still hoping to get our connection in Vancouver.
Oh, O after boarding half the plane they decided to kick everyone off again
and informed us there will be a few more minutes and we will board again.
Felt like they have a evacuation training going on with us.
OK boarding again and finally ..we took off.
After landing in Vancouver ...sorry you wouldn't be able to make your
flight to Vegas and by the way here is your new ticket.
Just 9 hours waiting time so enjoy the air port. We where a little
upset so we went to west jet counter for help.
We lost a whole day vacation and since it is just a 3 day get away would
you be able to give us an extension ...Please That was my question
and after a while I got the answer...NO!!!
We don't pay for your hotel for one more night because the reason for our
delay is weather and this and bla bla bla so we are not responsible.
Hey West Jet i spend 150 bucks for hotel to be there early in the morning and you charged more for your package to be on the short connection flights and after all your giving us a 20 dollar food voucher for 9 hours waiting? In the end we arrived shortly before midnight at our hotel in Vegas just to listen to "sorry we have no non smoking
rooms anymore". That's not right I booked with west jet and there is a
non smoking room right here on my papers I said...and than I reminded
myself oh that's right they are" not responsible for there promises."
We always liked to fly with you West Jet Guys ..this time you really ruined our vacation.
