I like nutracheck because it has worked out for me how many calories I can afford to eat and still lose weight. I also like that it has worked out the number of calories I need to burn daily, and keeping the diary up to date inspires me to burn as many calories as I can. I've lost a stone using this tool when I had ground to a halt trying to keep a check on my calorie intake on my own. I think that's partly because I don't cheat when I'm entering volumes of food consumed, or guess at the calories for an item, this way all the little things I wasn't noticing I was eating, like the ends of my children's unfinished meals, are also being added in so knowing I have to account for them makes only eat the calories I really want and not waste my allowance on unheeded scraps.
It is a bit flaky though, and some days just keeps crashing. I also sometimes find I can't find food by searching by the names but if I fish the wrapper out of the bin and do a bar ode scan it is found so it must have been in the app's database so I don't know why the search doesn't find these items.
