Under my Familly Legal Protection Insurance Policy Direct Line Covers me for legal expenses arising from 'contract disputes for buying or selling your home'.
My claim has been turned down on the basis that when I bought my home (although I had legal protection insurance in place) the 'home' that I was buying didnt qualify as a home because I wasnt living in it at the time and the policy had a different address to the property I was purchasing.
In other words no-one would ever be able to claim under this section of the policy unless they were purchasing the home they were already living in (presumeably renting as it is in fact illegal to purchase Title to property that you already own)
If DIRECT LINE stoops to arguments like this to reject claims then they cannot be relied upon as an insurer.
