“Do not touch this company - horrendous”

I am currently insured with this awful company, i made a claim back in Nov 2013 and to date this is ongoing, it has been over 2 months. Firstly when you call the claims team you are put on hold for at least 30 mins, and when you do eventually get to speak to an adviser they can never answer your query and promise to call you back which they never do....i have made a lot of calls requesting an update and i just get fobbed off. The most recent phone call to them ended with them wanting more information off me, they now want a phone statement, proof of my address and a lost and found number from the police (the police in my area no longer issue these numbers). I just cant understand the logic of them wanting this info, I have given them receipts etc and to ask for poof of my address is just so over the top - who in their right mind would pay a monthly premium of £42 and give someone else's address. I have again just come off the phone to them, this time I spoke to a claims adviser, and I asked to speak to a manager, not a surprise that there wasn't a manager available, the adviser told me a manager would call me within 24 hours - but I doubt that they will. I am about to cancel my policy with Towergate and make an official complaint to the FSO. My advice to anyone who is thinking of joining Towergate - do not go with this company, they take their monthly premium and after that the service they provide is beyond a joke.
