I bought my son some expensive trainer/shoes from JD, as he had come over from abroad to see his family.
They were too small, on Saturday 28th December I took them back to JD at Trafford Centre to be told
By the manager we could not exchange in any way , apparently it had been advertised to customers that no
Exchanges could be done between a certain date over the Christmas period. Ok I accept that but I only wanted another size as my son was flying home that same evening. This person I spoke to at first said he was the manager, but when I tried to explain that I need to be sorted today he said then he wasn't the manager. He had a name tag round his neck and the tag stating Manager, so unfortunately he was a liar to start and second not even prepared to look at the situation on a 1 to 1 basis , just always quoting the rules for Christmas. I asked his name he refused to give me it and then covered his name tag around his neck so I couldn't see. It is fair to say by this time I was getting very angry. This guy was a waste of time if that's JD managers then they need some training. As for the rule of no exchanges he said it was legal business . I have spoke to an authorised person in trading standards who assure me that the rules are individual shop rules to support them not written down as the law of the land. Our situation should have been sorted , they took the money willingly and did not mention the returns policy, in which they should have at the point of sale. We were treated badly and unfairly we will not be shopping there ever again and will be sharing my story with others. Has for the guy we spoke to he needs to do some serious training as it states 'according to the supply of goods and services act 1982' we were entitled to an exchange or return immaterial to the shop points of rule. Our experience was horrible it was like talking to a brick wall, no empathy or support......come on JD get a grip.
