“Disaster company - stay away”

I attempted to order a kitchen rug recently and found online ordering with House of Bath straightforward enough and received an email to say that the item would be delivered around 6th December. That date came and went and I looked at the online tracking which showed that the item had almost reached me but been returned to the warehouse. I emailed House of Bath who told me it had been damaged in transit and returned to them. The email said that they would refund the delivery charge and asked me if I wanted to re-order. Having already paid for the item as well as delivery I didn't expect to have go through the whole order process again and emailed to ask for an explanation. No reply. I emailed again and then got a very apologetic reply to say that due to their system I would have to re-order the item and pay for it and the delivery again, in the meantime they would refund the item cost. They offered me a 15% discount on any new order but considering I got a 10% discount for just opening an online account with them in the first place, I don't think this is much of an incentive. Having cancelled the order, I am kitchen rug-less for Christmas, however I think I'll just visit a well known home furnishings store instead. I advise you to do the same and avoid House of Bath altogether.
