“Absolute "Trash"”

My wife and I had been collecting Nectar points all year via our British Gas and Electricity accounts. We had decided to use the money saved, £50, for our Xmas shop in Sainsburys. After getting to the tills we handed over our Nectar card and asked to deduct the amount from our grocery bill. We were surprised to be told that we could not use the nectar card as we had not previously used the card in that particular store. We could not believe it, we paid the £125 bill and left the store. In hindsight we should have left the trolley full of groceries at the till and then walked out. Even more annoying was when I contacted Nectar, it was an Indian Call Centre. Suprise, Surprise. The lady on the phone was useless and basically said what did I expect her to do about it. Well I could have told her where she could stick the card but that would have not been typically British. My advice. Keep away from Nectar and stick with Tesco Clubcard. My advice to companies thinking about using Nectar as their rewards scheme. DONT BOTHER as you'll just end up annoying your customers...
