“CHECK THE CAR THOROUGHLY BEFORE YOU DRIVE AWAY!! ”

I went to collect my new car, having signed all the paperwork agreeing the p/ex values etc - after which they decided to take it for a test drive & came back in claiming to have found serious issues with my car, that would cost them hundreds to repair. Fortunately, as I had already signed the paperwork & the contract was now legally binding they were not able to reduce their p/ex offer for my car as they were clearly planning to (when the car had no issues at all!). However after almost an hour of discussions, this then meant that they were in a rush to get rid of me as they were losing precious sales & I had no chance to inspect the car before leaving. No car mats as promised, teeny amount of fuel rather than the half tank as promised, and more worrying there was a chip in my windscreen - directly above their own 'inspection passed' sticker! Having done this to me the previous time I had purchased a car from them (promising me genuine mats & fobbing me off with cheap, nasty rubber ones), I was not impressed.

Beware of empty promises - you'll be promised the moon on a stick if it secures their sale, but rarely will they deliver on this.
