Halifax has declined my mortgage 4 days before i am due to exchange documents. they have given me an agreement in principle, done the searches and ive paid everything. it was all hunky dory, now i asked why hasn't my agreement been sent to my solicitor, because the underwriters have now declined it at this late stage saying they have found a ccj against my partner in 2009.. why did they not do this when i paid them to do the searches??? i asked the question! the reply i got was the front line people only have access to the experian report and the underwriters who make the final decision have access to experian and equifax and this is where the ccj is, equiafax. i have paid for them to do the searches so they should have done all searches then, equafax.
even the mortgage guy i was dealing with said it is a shambles what they have done
be aware all they are interested in is taking your money.... i wish i would have read this site before hand.
i am now out of pocket, with a baby and homeless from next week. big thanks to halifax
