“Rip Off ”

written by on 01/12/2013

I joined David LLoyd and was told that after the first 12 months I could give 1 months notice to leave. Not so apparently, I tried to cancel my membership and its three months notice at an extra cost of £199 if you cancel after the initial 12 month !. If you are thinking of joining them my advice would be don't believe everything you are told, read the small print - my mistake not to as apparently its on there and look round Pure Gym instead - much cheaper for practically the same equipment (if not better and new and much more of it) and a rolling contract which you can cancel anytime. I shall certainly be going to Pure Gym after the three months that David Lloyd have conned out of me. I am not happy. I feel ripped off and the gym isn't that good anyway. The classes are rubbish and people just turn up for them without booking meaning not enough equipment for those who have booked and no one ever says anything. Either that or no one turns up to actually take the class. My sons 15 and was told there were loads of classes her could take part in when actually he's too old for the kids classes and too young for the adults. There are much cheaper much better and more honest gyms out there, don't be fooled by the David Lloyd hype.
