Really poor service this weekend with a last-minute Pattaya hotel booking. After discovering the hotel of my choice fully booked via most agents, I eventually hit on hoteltravel.com who could provide a guaranteed room with breakfast at an OK price. I paid by Visa online to book the room. Hoteltravel,com also provided an assurance that an agent would contact me within twenty minutes of the email booking if any problem arose. An email from these agents informing me that the room was in fact unavailable arrived as I was trying to check in to the hotel. Even though my bank had sent me an sms confirming that I had paid for the booking, the hotel refused to acknowledge this, and insisted on a further payment.
